Magazines take some time to reach the soldiers. The news and current events magazines have been removed as part of the selection per request of Operation Gratitude, so the soldiers are not receiving old magazines.

- My name is Chaplain J.S. I wanted to take a moment to write and say thank you to all the good folks at Operation Gratitude. We received one of your care packages today at our FOB. There are so many items that I cannot wait to distribute to my Soldiers here – the videos, cookies, candy and so much more. I have four Bible Studies and Worship Services each week – so I have ample opportunity to distribute care packages. I also maintain a couple shelves in the chapel office where Soldiers often come in and take whatever they need. What a great way to break the ice and let Soldiers know that folks like you care about and pray for them! One other way that you help – unfortunately there are some Soldiers that don't receive many care packages. They are always the ones who I look out for – and without folks like you I wouldn't be able to make sure they know they are not forgotten. In the austere environment in which we serve, very little is taken for granted. I can assure you that the kindness and outreach of Operation Gratitude are both noticed and greatly appreciated. So, on behalf of the Soldiers here on FOB *** and I am sure the thousands of other Soldiers you serve -- thank you! Blessings, CH (CPT) J.S.”
The care packages honestly do boost our morale
Posted: 11-04-2011- I would like to thank you on behalf of the 651st CASF for the care packages. Yesterday 24OCT2011 our staff began receiving their care packages from your wonderful organization. We truly are grateful for the donations that we receive. The care packages honestly do boost our morale. As always there are some personnel who receive packages regularly; however, we have many deployed personnel who do not and this has helped make everyone’s day. Thank you once again for what you do. V/r, N. Y, SrA, USAF Aerospace Medical Technician 651 CASF, Camp Bastion
The Marines have been overjoyed and elated to read the letters, try on the scarves and pocket all of the goodies they have received
Posted: 11-03-2011- My name is Captain J. H. and I am a Harrier pilot in the United States Marine Corps from *****. I am currently commanding the Airfield Operations Company, Marine Wing Support Squadron 371, at Camp Leatherneck, AFG.I would like to extend a personal thank you for all of your efforts in Operation Gratitude and Operation Homefront. My company has been in theatre for over a month now and is spread out all over the operating area. As we have gotten settled in and the excitement of the unknown has calmed down, the Marines have had a bit more time to think about home. It was at this time we received a mail call that was beyond anything I have seen in the 12 years I have been in the Corps. Operation Gratitude for our company had arrived. The Marines have been overjoyed and elated to read the letters, try on the scarves and pocket all of the goodies they have received. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the magazine telling the story of each box, seeing all of the pictures of smiles and want to thank all of you and the sponsors for your tremendous efforts. Every “Thank You” truly does lighten our packs and make us stand tall and proud of what we do for our country. Thank you, for what you do for us. Most Appreciative, Captain J. H.

Posted: 10-25-2011- Today 12 May 2011 I received one of your packages and I am really thankful for it. It is such a morale booster. My unit is deployed to Afghanistan in Northern Helmand Province. We only get mail here maybe once a month so when it comes we are like kids at Christmas. My name is HM3 C. and I am a Navy corpsman, aka “Doc”, for my Marines. There are a total of 18 of us at our FOB. We arrived here on the 25 Feb 2011. We have no emailing or phone capabilities so I’m providing you a list of my Marines if you wouldn’t mind sending them all a package. Everyone here appreciates what you are doing for our service members and just like to say keep up the good work. From all the Marines here we want to say thank you and what you all are doing is greatly appreciated. HM3 B. C.
